MODIS MOD12 Land Cover and Land Cover Dynamics Products User Guide
This living document describes the MODIS Land Cover (MOD12Q1) and Land Cover
Dynamics (MOD12Q2) Products. Revisions occur as these products are still in
development. The purpose of this document is to give the user an
understanding of the content and format of the MOD12 products and the current
state of the data in those products.

NOTE: The most current data product available is nominal data day 2000289, version 3. The data set name to search for at the EDC DAAC is "MODIS/TERRA LAND COVER TYPE 96-DAY L3 GLOBAL 1KM ISIN GRID V003". Two prior MOD12Q1 product deliveries, 2000289, version 1, and 2001001 version 1, are based on limited time series and unreprocessed input data. They are archived at EDC.
