Global 1995 AVHRR Derived BRDF and Albedo Data Sets
Global representations of BRDF and Albedo are derived from
monthly composited AVHRR data from 1995 and a database of
archetypal BRDF parameters (Strugnell and Lucht, 2000; Strugnell
et al., 2000). The archetypal BRDF database is
associated with a static land cover of the globe and a
seasonal model and is based on field collected BRDFs. The global
10km AVHRR derived BRDF parameters (and a simple code to
convert them to white-sky (bihemispherical) albedo and black-sky
(directional hemispherical) albedo) are available.
