MOD43B Products
Level 3, 16-day, MODIS BRDF/Albedo Products
are now being made available to the public. MOD43B1
provides global one kilometer BRDF Model Parameters (using the
RossThick-LiSparseReciprocal semiempirical, kernel-driven
model) in equal area tiles of 1200 by 1200 pixels in a Sinusoidal
projection (SIN). MOD43C2 provides the BRDF Model Parameters on a
0.05degree global Climate Modeling Grid (CMG).
MOD43B3 provides the one kilometer white-sky (bihemispherical) albedo
and black-sky (directional hemispherical) albedo (at local
solar noon), while MOD43C1 provides the CMG version of these
albedo measures. MOD43B4 provides one-kilometer Nadir BRDF-Adjusted
Reflectance (NBAR) at the mean solar zenith angle of each 16
day period, with the CMG version available as MOD43C3.
See Schaaf et al., 2002, Lucht et al. (2000) and the MOD43B User's
Guide for further details.
Global examples of white-sky albedo and of
NBAR are shown below.
